Xiaomi Mi 9 detail features
As Mi 9 is company’s latest flagship phone of this year, so it is clear that Xiaomi’s eye on to positioned the phone as a competitor to other devices in terms of its camera and capture worldwide audiences as much as possible.
Design
Starting with the design, Xiaomi Mi 9 is a really stunning device. Like the other flagships of these days, it is slim, made up of curved glass on the back which seamlessly blends with thin metal frames. Due to curved back design, it became more comfortable fit in hand when twisting and turning the device into various angles for the camera. The company has paid very close attention to the rear panel to make the device stand out.
It comes with a weight of 173g, and with thin dimensions 157.5 x 74.7 x 7.6 mm It becomes more pleasant to hold and play with.
The back of the phone is mostly clean and covered by Gorilla glass 5 which is bent towards the frame. A triple camera array with LED flash is placed at the top left corner of back. If you hold the phone in the right angles, you will able see the unique “Halo ring” accent around the top 48MP camera sensor that gives really cool looks in the multi-colored pattern.
On the front, Mi 9 features a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a small water-drop-style notch and a thin chin. Corning gorilla glass 6 is there to protect your screen. Here Mi9 used the UD fingerprint reader which is hidden under the screen.
On the right side of the phone, there is volume rocker and power placed correctly to your reach. The left side holds the SIM tray and an AI button, which launches the Google Assistant on international units and the company’s own Xiao AI.
The bottom part of the phone houses a speaker grill, primary microphone and USB-C type port for charging and data sharing. The loving 3.5mm headphone jack is missing on the Mi 9, as Xiaomi retired the headphone jack a few years ago.
Display
The Xiaomi Mi 9 features a 19.5:9 aspect ratio type 6.39-inch super AMOLED display with the resolution of 4080×2340 pixels and 402ppi pixel density.
The only distraction you come across on the screen is the water-drop-style U-shaped notch, otherwise, the display is great and you will enjoy pretty immersive views on it.
It is protected by Corning Gorilla glass 6 – the most shatter-resistant glass in the smartphone world right now. Again it supports HDR 10.
The AMOLED panel offers a very decent brightness of 430nits but it can reach up to 620 nits in bright light if you enable the auto brightness mode. There is also support for High Brightness Mode and Sunlight 2.0 enhance the display for outdoor using.
We all know that Mi9 brings the in-display fingerprint sensor but there is an improvement. It apparently unlocks the phone up to 25% faster compared to the predecessor Mi 8.
Camera And Sensor
The triple rear camera setup on the back of Mi 9 includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 1/2 primary sensor of aperture f/1.75, a 12MP telephoto sensor of aperture f/2.2 for 2X optical zoom and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor of aperture f/2.2 which is capable to capture 117° field View.
There is a LED flash sits right under the triple camera array for low light enhancement.
The Sony IMX586 48MP sensor uses a Quad Bayer arrangement, which essentially acts as a 12MP sensor with very large 1.6µm pixels to draw more light and increase the performance. It works similarly that we have seen in
The Night Mode is also available on the Xiaomi Mi 9 for those long-exposure hand-held shots when the light is really dimmed.
As per the DxOMark result, Mi 9 is the third best smartphone in capturing high-quality images. It is just one point behind the brand new Samsung Galaxy S10, which is costs nearly twice the price of Mi9.

It can handle intensive apps and multitasking without any hassle and with the presence of Adreno 640 GPU, you will get more effective performance than ever before.
Software
Xiaomi Mi 9 runs on top of Android 9 Pie and company’s own latest MIUI 10. Here MIUI 10 improves further the system looks, gestures, and performance. So, if you already familiar with MIUI 10, then it will become rather easy to operate.
There are some remarkable visual changes in MIUI 10 which include refined system icons, Android Pie-styled volume sliders, and brightness sliders, notification shade, and quick shortcuts.
Another new feature added in MIUI 10 is the Picture in Picture (PIP) mode which can be enabled for each compatible app from the Additional Privacy Settings. Currently, it works on some apps like Google Chrome, Movies, Maps, YouTube, Duo, Instagram, Opera, Messenger, and VLC.
